Health Care Reform

As a trusted provider of health care to thousands of women, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) knows how critical it is for every woman to have medical coverage that includes comprehensive reproductive health care.

The health care reform bill was signed into law, a historic achievement for all Americans and for women’s health. This legislation will extend coverage to tens of millions of women and families, guarantee women access to affordable lifesaving screenings for cervical and breast cancer and other preventative tests, protect women against gender discrimination by private insurers, end the practice of dropping coverage because of pre-existing conditions, and significantly increase insurance coverage of preventive reproductive health care, including family planning.
